THE TRINITY
John 1:1 -
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD.
The same was in the beginning with GOD.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Colossians 2:9 -
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the GOD head bodily.
THE TRINITY
The concept of the Trinity is fundamental in the Christian faith. One GOD - 3 distinct persons,
The Father, The Son ,and The Holy Spirit, all united in essence as One, but distinctively 3 individuals
Each person playing a part in perfect harmony - all equal as GOD. The Trinity Doctrine has always been a contentious topic, for both Christians and non-Christians.
Many difficulties arise because of misunderstandings of scripture, for example; when Jesus talks of GOD the father, the assumption is Jesus therefore cannot be GOD.
We can never truly understand the full nature of GOD; and this also applies to never fully grasping the mechanisms of the trinity. However, scripture does allow us to comprehend the doctrine of the trinity and reach a firm understanding, on what Jesus was saying about himself, and in addition; what and why GOD is three distinct persons unified in one.
People have suggested because the word Trinity is not in the bible, therefore it can’t be so. There are many words we use today that were not used then, but we can still use modern words to see explain biblical scripture.
Other words as well as Trinity you may here today in relation to the bible are - Omnipresent and Omniscient, These words meaning ( Ever-Present and All-knowing), were used later to describe teachings in the bible.
So because words were used later on like Omnipresent and Omniscient are not mentioned in the bible, this does not mean biblical scripture does not teach or explain the Tinity.
Many sceptics cherry pic verses from the bible ; and do not read further on, or read other passages to understand there proper meanings. There are doctrines of the Trinity throughout the bible. And we must closley investigate those passages to get an understanding and knowledge, of One GDO with 3 distinct persons. JESUS in ( OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE ) Here we read in the following Old Testament verses of Isaiah, GOD the Creator talks of no other GOD but he only. Isaiah 43: 10-11 10. Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he : before me there was no GOD formed, neither shall there be after me. 11. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isaiah 44: Verse 6 6. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts ; I am the First, and I am the Last, and beside me there is no GODJesus Christ says in the Book of Revelation: " I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last " and repeats these words several times. He is the First and that he is the Alpha. This means that there is none before Him. This phrase can not be interpreted other than that he is GOD Himself, otherwise GOD would not have been existing, because there is none before the First and none before the Alpha. Jesus is the First therefore - He was not created, because there was none before Him to create Him. And if He was not created then He is Eternal and therefore He is GOD. In Isaiah 48: Verse 16, we read of - 3 seperate people.
Isaiah 48: Verse 16 16. Come ye near unto me, hear ye this ; " I " have not spoken in secret from the beginning ; from the time that it was, there am " I " : and now the Lord GOD and his Spirit, hath sent ME
3 Distinct people are clearly identified - God ( No.1 ), His Spirit ( No.2 ), and hath Sent Me ( No.3 ) The " ME " clearly differentiates himself from the Lord GOD and his Spirit. GOD - No.1His Spirit - No. 2Jesus - No.3 ( the Me )
SO WHO IS TALKING ? Who is the one that says in Isahia 48: Verse 16, that did not speak in secret and was there at the begginning ?To know who is talking - we need to go back a few verses to ( Isaiah 48: Verse 12 )
Isaiah 48: Verse 12
12. Hearken unto ME, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am He , I am the FIRST, I also am the LAST The Words of Jesus Himself - In The Book of Revelation" I am Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the FIRST and the LAST " So the " Me" (No.3) in verse 12, is declaring HE is the Creator and the Redeemer. The First and the Last ; and ONLY Jesus declared he is the First and Last. And following in ( Isaiah 48: Verse 16 ), The " ME " is clearly speaking of himself from the other 2 individuals the Lord GOD and his Spirit. GOD - No.1 His Spirit - No. 2Jesus - No.3 ( the Me ) Jesus throughout the New Testament identified himself as the First and Last, and being present at the beginning of creation. One example of this was telling the Jewish Pharisees he exsisted before Abraham, " assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was " I AM " Old testament scripture identifys the " I AM " with Messiah - GOD Himself by saying this he made it clear to all - He was not created; he was there exsisting ETERNALLY The First and The Last There are many other New Testament verses as well confirming Jesus as the Creator, First and Last. Colossians 1: 14-17 14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:15. Who is the image of the invisible GOD, the first born of every creature:16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Throughout Jesus ministry, he confirmed the validity and absolute TRUTH of Old Testament Scripture, and confirmed he is the GOD ALMIGHTY of The Old Testament.
( Old Testament ) - Zechariah 12: 1-11 These verses talk about the " ME " ( GOD ). Whenever you see " LORD " in caps, to Jewish people this means GOD. Throughout these verses the GOD is speaking.
In Zechariah 12: 10. The Lord GOD speaks of himself - the " ME " (CRUCIFIXTION OF CHRIST)
10. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have PIERCED , and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Verse 10. Is describing : THE CRUCIFIXTION OF CHRIST : A FUTURE EVENT YET TO HAPPEN
What we see now is who the " ME " isThe only one who was Pierced was JESUS CHRIST
When was GOD pierced ? GOD was only Pierced ONCE on the CROSS
The Apostle Paul explains something of the Trinity in 2nd Corinthians 5: Verse 19,21 19. To wit, that GOD ( GOD - No.1 ) was in Christ ( Jesus - No.3 ), reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. GOD - No.1His Spirit - No. 2Jesus - No.3 ( the Me ) GOD was in Christ on the Cross reconciling the World to Himself.
21. For he (GOD - No.1) hath made him (Jesus No.3) to be sin for us, who knew no sin;that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in him.
So where was the Holy Spirit ?
The Holy Spirit is mentioned at the cross in - Hebrews 9 : 14 14. How much more shall the blood of Christ ( Jesus - No.3 ), who through the Eternal Spirit ( His Spirit - No.2 )offered Himself without spot to GOD (GOD - No.1), purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living GOD ?
All 3 are operating at ONCE ALL co-equal ( ALL GOD ) with Specific Rolls.
GOD - No. 1 His Spirit - No. 2Jesus - No.3 ( the Me )
Within the Trinity the Lord GOD is the FATHER, he is always presented as the Father.Jesus died on the cross as the - " ME " (Jesus - No.3) The Christ - The son DIED on the cross.
In 2nd Corinthians 5:19, it says ( GOD - No.1 ) was in Christ not dying, but reconciling the world to himself. GOD the FATHER did not DIE - GOD the Son ( Christ ) DIED. In Psalm 2 : Verse 2 , It speaks of the Lord and his Annointed one.The word Annointed in Hebrew is " Mashach " , translated in Greek is " Christos ", and in English is Christ. Psalm verse 7 - also speaks of Christ. - I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son ; this day have I begotten thee.
Who is the son of GOD ?
As mentioned above, he is in Psalm 2 : Verse 2 , the Annointed One (Christ)
GOD in the Old Testament declared the son " ME" ( Jesus - No.3 )was to be PIERCED ( Nailed to the Cross ) for the remission of sin - who is the Lord Jesus Christ. " Me " ( Jesus No.3 ) the son of GOD - has No Beginning and No End ( GOD ) and exsisted ETERNALLY and declared he is the FIRST and the LAST ( GOD ) And in Old Testament ( Isaiah 48: Verse 12 ) as read previously - the " ME " ( No.3 ) The First and Last ( GOD ) - who was Nailed to the Cross. Is clearly speaking of himself from the other 2 individuals the Lord GOD and his Spirit.
The First and the Last ; and ONLY Jesus declared he is the First and the Last.
GOD - No.1 His Spirit - No. 2Jesus - No.3 ( the Me )
Other New Testament verses as well confirming Jesus as the Creator, First and Last.
Colossians 1: 14-17 14. In whom We have Redemption through his Blood, even the Forgiveness of Sins:15. Who is the image of the Invisible GOD, the first born of every creature: 16.
In Mathew 28:19 Go, ye therefore, and teach all the nations, baptising them in the name of theFather and the Son and the Holy Spirit. In Titus 3: 4-6
But when the kindness and the love of GOD our saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit whom he poured out on us abundantly through - Jesus Christ our saviour.
Here we can see all 3 PERSONS of the nature of GOD. The New Testament undeniably mentions both Jesus and the HOLY SPIRIT are both Eternal and GOD. The 3 persons stated Biblically. Peter calls the Holy Spirit - GOD - In Acts 5 : 3 - 4
But peter said to “Ananias why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the " HOLY SPIRIT " and keep back part of the price of the land yourself while it remained was it not your own. And after it was sold, was it not in your own control. Why have you concealed this thing in your heart,
" YOU HAVE NOT LIED TO MEN BUT GOD ” Firstly we see here that Ananias first lied to the HOLY SPIRIT, and then we read that Ananias lied to God himself. Peter goes on to say clearly Ananias has lied to " GOD "
There are also other verses in the Bible attributing - GOD to the Holy Spirit and Other Verses that say the Holy Spirit is Eternal
In Hebrews 9:14
“ how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered himself without spot to GOD ” 1st Corinthians 2:10 - said the - Spirit is All Knowing “ But GOD has revealed them to us through his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, and the deep things of GOD "We can see that scripture clearly shows the Holy Spirit is Eternal as well as Omniscient (All Knowing). Acts 13:2 - tells us the Holy Spirit can speak and command. " As they ministered to the lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said now separate me to Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them ”.
Romans 8: 27 “ Now he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He ( Spirit ) makes intersection for the saints according to the will of man ”
What scripture is telling us, is the Holy Spirit, has all the characteristics of GOD and is also called GOD.
Romans 8: 27 - The Holy Spirit has a Mind 1st Corinthians - The Holy Spirit is All Knowing ( Omniscient ) Hebrews 9: 14 - The Holy Spirit is Eternal Acts 5: 3 - 4 - The Holy Spirit is called GOD
This confirms the Holy Spirit as part of the Trinity. Holy Spirit is also God - distinctly separate from the God the Father. People will say Jesus never said he was God, because they can’t find a verse where he actually said he was GOD. Therefore his not GOD because he never stated he was. In fact there are many verses where he claims to be GOD. The problem is they are looking for versus where he said, “ I Am God ” We must remember, Jesus was not talking to just anyone, he was talking to the Ancient Religious Jews. There concept of someone claiming to be God, was understood differently to what we would perceive today. If someone in 1st Century Jerusalem was claiming himself to be GOD ! Either by using the name (YHWH) or by referring to themself as the ( I AM ) of Old Testament Scripture. He was actually claiming to be The Lord ( GOD ALMIGHTY ) the ( CREATOR ) - and has committed Blasphemy and is punishable by Death. This is precisely what happened with Jesus before the Jewish Pharisees. In John 8: 58 - “ Jesus said to them, most assuredly, I say to you before Abraham was, " I AM " In Old Testament scripture, Exodus 3:14 Moses asks God what to tell the people if they should ask what the LORDS NAME IS, and GOD answered tell them “ I AM WHO I AM "
Tell them “ I AM ” have sent you. This is what Jesus said - HE is the - " I AM " when being questioned who he was claiming to be.
The religious leaders knew exactly what Jesus was claiming, he was claiming to be the LORD GOD
When the words used by Jesus " I AM " he was stating He Is the Messiah and Surpasses all dimensions and time, as only God can do. He was one and the same as God, and because of this blasphemous claim, it was punishable by death.
Jesus said to them, most assuredly, I say to you before Abraham was - " I AM "
The original Greek word used in the bible for " I AM " is ( Ego Eimi ) Jesus was saying he had No Beginning; ( The First and Last - Alpha and Omega ) he was there an - ( Eternal Existence ) When Jesus said ” before Abraham was ” the Greek word used was “ Genesthai “. Meaning to be ( brought into existence ) that being Abraham
Undoubtedly here Jesus claims Eternal Existence using the word Ego Eimi " I AM " for himself - ( the same word GOD used with Moses to tell the people his name )
The contrast between Genesthai and Eimi is complete. Jesus is making a clear differentiation here - between the Brought into existence of Abraham and the Eternal Existence of the Lord Christ.
We then see the Jews being outraged because of this claim, which they clearly understood that Jesus was claiming HE was the Lord GOD ( " I AM " ) Ego Eimi and because of this, wanted to stone him publicly.
In John 8:59 we read -
“ then they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by “
There are also other mentions of " I AM " in other passages of the bible, and there are passages written where Jesus is saying " It Is i " For Example - In Mathew 14 : 2 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them be of good cheer, “ it is i " do not be afraid “
In the original Greek, Ego Eimi ( I AM ) = GOD As well other passages which read the same in Greek are - Mark 6:50, John 6:20
So scripture undoubtebly clearly shows Jesus to be claiming the Eternal God - ( I AM )
Jesus also calls himself - Son of Man - Old Testament Messianic reference to GOD.
Many people assume he is claiming his humanity, but this is not so. People make assumptions without reading and comprehending further scripture, which explains what this actually means.
When Jesus referred to himself as SON OF MAN, this was a Messianic Title from Old Testament Scripture. In the book of Daniel Chapter 7, the Divine God is referred as the Son of Man, the divine Son of Man will have an everlasting kingdom, which shall not ever pass away. Daniel refers to the Son of Man, comes with the clouds of heaven.
In Mark 14
When Jesus was arrested and stood before the Sanhedrin court (Jewish Leaders). The high priest asks him, “are you the Christ the son of the beloved”, Jesus answered, " I AM " And you will see the " SON OF MAN " sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming with the clouds of heaven” JESUS is referring himself of Divine nature, not a mere man. And only GOD in Old Testament Scripture - Daniel 7, will come with the clouds of heaven and establish an everlasting kingdom. The Jewish leaders understood immediately his claim of being GOD the MESSIAH and with this “ the high priest tore his clothes and yelled blasphemy, and they all condemned him to be of deserving death”.
There was no doubt in the minds of the Jewish leaders, Jesus had made the claim. He was professing to be almighty GOD that will ride the clouds of heaven, that ONLY GOD can do. There are other verses in Old Testament scripture, which confirm the claim Jesus as being God, in relation to the coming or riding on the clouds. This act of riding the clouds is restricted to GOD only. See References - Old Testament - ( Psalm 68: 4 , 68: 33, Isaiah 19:1, Deuteronomy 33:26 )
Jesus is making a statement they understood, GOD can only perform wonders like using the clouds for his glory,
" And I stand before you, declaring this as Son of Man the Divine GOD ".
Other things Jesus did which outraged the Religious leaders and only things GOD can do was to forgive sins and accept worship.
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said - " Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk ? But that ye may know that the Son of Man hath power on Earth to Forgive Sins "( then saith he to the sick of the palsy ) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house Other References Forgiveness of sins - Mathew 9: 2-6, Mark: 6-12, Luke 5: 17-26Worship of Jesus - Mathew 8:2, 14:33, Luke 24:52, John 9:38
Scripture also tells us that GOD can only forgive our sins.
Jesus was claiming his divinity - and was forgiving sins throughout his ministry,Jesus stated he was able to do so; he has the Divine Authority.
Therefore we can conclude with absolute evidence, what the New Testament says.
The Father is God.The Son Jesus is God.The Holy Spirit is God.
Yet, they are distinct and well-defined from one another.
We see this DISTINCTION in - John 14 : 26 when Jesus IS talking to the Apostles. John 14 : 26 " But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name (Jesus), HE shall teachyou all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you "
This verse and previous passages mentioned, show the clear presence of all 3 members of the Trinity, there are many other passages in the bible that also clearly describe the Trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are - NOT DISSIMILAR - types of Gods. We have seen they are in essence ONE and with individual functions, which make up the Godhead. These are other verses which also give examples of - 3 persons of the Godhead.Mathew 28:19, Titus 3: 4-6, Mathew 7:21, Mathew 11:25, Luke 3:22, Luke 4:18, John 1:32,
John 5:19-27, Mark 13:32, Luke 12:12 The Bible in both Old and New Testament make it abundantly clear there is only - ONE GODHear, O Israel - The Lord our GOD is one Lord:
In Mark 12 : 29 And Jesus answered, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel ; The Lord our GOD is one Lord. In James 2 :19 Thou believes that there is ONE GOD thou does well:There can be no mistake, there is only ONE God In John 14 :17 - We can see the 3 persons of the TRINITY working together in unity. Jesus guarantees the comforter ( Holy Spirit ) will come" And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you Another Comforter that HE may abide with you forever "
" Even the Spirit of Truth ; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him ; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
So Jesus is saying after he leaves the earth , the Holy Spirit - ( HE ) will come, and live in them. As well the presence of the Father and Son will be in them. All three will be present together. John 14 : 21, Jesus said HE will manifest himself in Us. John 14 : 21,
“ He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me, shall be love of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him “
And In John 14:23, - Father and the Son Together, will come to make a home with us and live in us
John 14;23 -Jesus answered and said unto him " if a man love me, he will keep my words : and my Fatherwill love him, and WE will Come unto Him , and make our Abode with Him ”What Scripture Clearly is telling us, the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father, are all coming to Live In Us,
All 3 persons - working as ( ONE TRINITY ) as Jesus stated in the New Testament. There are also teachings of the Trinity in the Book Of Revelation, as well as other Gospels Accounts. Scripture could not be any CLEARER as we read in Verses - John 1 and 14 John 1 and 14 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD14. And the Word was made Flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the onlybegotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
We can also see evidences of the Trinity, Jesus claiming to be GOD in what he said and didn’t say. An example of this, is when we look at the incidence when Jesus was in the temple and cures a man, that was unable to walk.
We read the Jewish leaders question Jesus and accuse him of blasphemy. In John 5 :16
“ And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day ” Jesus was healing people on the Sabbath day, and by working on the Sabbath you were considered breaking Gods Law. In John 5:17 - Jesus replies But Jesus answered them, " My Father worketh hither to, and I work ” He is saying my Father (God) works until now and I am working as well.
When the Jewish leaders heard his reply and other remarks he made, the Jews went from persecution to now - wanting to have him killed.
So what was it that changed their intent, to now plan to have Jesus killed ?
The answer is revealed in the very next verse - John 5 :18
John 5 : 18
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that - God was his Father, making himself Equal with GOD
The Jewish leaders were looking to kill him, not so much for breaking Sabbath law, but calling GOD his own Father. Which the meaning in Jewish Old Testament Scripture is - Jesus was now claiming to be - Equal with GOD. It's important to understand Jesus did not claim to be higher than God, he claimed to be Equal ( on par ) with GOD. Confirming the Trinity ( 3 parts that make the God Head ) as we have read previously. Jesus makes the ( Trinity ) clear ( He is Equal with God ) part of the God Head. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. When Jesus spoke and said GOD was his father, the Jewish leaders did not take this as people normally refer to their own father and son relationship, Jesus was now saying he is the same essence as GOD, Jesus is making himself Equal with GOD - the Creator in all of his glory. John 5 : 18
Though he did not wear now the " form of God " but the " form of the Servant " yet the Servant (Jesus) knew that He was Son and Lord of all. It’s important to understand what happened next, what Jesus said and what he DID Not Say
Jesus at this point after claiming to be equal with GOD. Could easily have corrected them ( the Jewish Leaders ) by saying he was NOT actually claiming to be GOD. As they were accusing him of being equal with GOD, and punishment is Death. He could have withdrawn his statement saying he didn’t actually mean that. It was a mistake, and they misunderstood what he was saying. The accusation of claiming to be God is punishable by death. Jesus could have refuted and resolved the charge of a deadly blasphemous allegation.
But he didn’t, Jesus knew exactly what he said, and saw the impression his words produced, and took no steps to correct them, he let it stand, he was testifying to all he is GOD.
He not only let it stand he made it worse for himself, giving them more reason to accuse him of blasphemy and have him killed. Jesus continued to testify his divinity as GOD, and this only strengthened the Jewish leaders to have Jesus killed as soon as possible. John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them - verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things so ever he doeth, these also doeth the Son like wise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. When we examine these verses, Jesus is making some of the most incredible claims to date. Jesus is saying, “ whatever the Father does he does like wise ”. His not saying he’ll decide whether or not to do what I see the Father doing. His stating all the Father does, automatically I DO !Whatever the father does the son does in par. GOD creates = Jesus creates, GOD forgives = Jesus forgives and so on. This incensed the authorities listening.
And the meaning of Jesus saying “ what the Father does he does “ can be answered easily. Imagine YOU were saying what Jesus said to the Jewish Leaders, knowing your life was at stake. " Everything God Does I Do " You are declaring - YOU ARE EQUAL WITH GOD In closing.
Undoubtedly we can view the Biblical Text and see compelling teachings of the TRINITY scattered throughout the bible.
The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit – 3 distinctive individuals unified in ONE - all working together in perfect synchronization. Even if we discard all other passages and examine just one occasion. With Jesus in the temple, and examine from - John Chapter 5: 5-23, and read the what Jesus spoke of himself. We can see the evidence, Jesus confirming his divinity as GOD, clearly establishing his Lord Messiah claim, by not refuting the very accusations of the Jews, of being Equal with GOD the Creator. He is openly recieving in front of all the people in the Holy Temple ; The Jewish religious leaders publicly convicting him of his very own words, Jesus saying he is EQUAL with GOD the FATHER - ( I Am GOD ). And by doing this ; he knows the ramifications and what will be the eventual outcome, the ultimate sacrifice willingly giving his life. The best illustration of the TRINITY for man to understand is in the First Page of The Bible in The Old Testament in Genesis 1: 26 Here on the very first page describing the creation of MAN - we read God descibing himself as more than ONE singular fiqure. GOD is speaking of himself in plural form, more than just one fiqure, using the words US and OUR. Here God is showing us the TRINITY - ONE GOD - 3 DISTINCT PERSONS The FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. All united in essence as ONE , but distinctively 3 seperate persons. Each person playing a part in perfect harmony - all Equal as GOD Genesis 1 : 26 “ And GOD said; let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness ” The likness of GOD - As Man is also 3 in 1
1. Body2 . Soul3. Spirit
THE TRINITY ( The GOD Head ) 1. Father2. Son (Jesus Christ)3. Holy Spirit
3 Distinct Persons United As ONE GOD
